Karaoke Ice

Karaoke Ice is a collaborative residency project originally built for the ISEA 2006/ZeroOne Festival in San Jose CA (August 2006). The project is a symbiosis of ice cream truck and karaoke bar. A theme park character, Remedios the Squirrel Cub, hands out ice pops and encourages the crowds to step up and sing. The song list includes special arrangements of popular favorites including Work It, Ring of Fire, Hotel California, and Material Girl.

As part of the CADRE Laboratory for New Media, I participated as a development team member to design and build the hybrid ice cream truck/ traveling Karaoke performance installation. I provided research, development, and assistance with the construction of the physical vehicle including the body work, rack systems, lighting, and electrical systems.
